She’s a remarkable woman to watch, Vanessa Paradis, gap between her front teeth, a petit but buff body, unkempt brown locks and the prettiest dollface the celebrity world has to offer. Still, it’s her life and career (and choice of partner, how could we not be amazed by the woman who Johnny Depp fell for?) that leaves us constantly hunger for more. Completely self-aware and nowadays very hush hush on her private life, Paradis has been in the public eye since the tender age of 14 when ‘Joe le Taxi’ became an instant hit. At a time when most of us were struggling with the thought of ourselves, the French beauty embraced celebrity and success with dignity in place. At 19 she became the face of Coco (Chanel) and Lagerfeld’s personal muse. Often spotted in bohemian-esque dresses, Paradis pulls of suits and full length 20s gowns just as well. She’s very French and very beautiful, often Lolitaish in pale blues and greens or combining an embellished slinky dress with an oversized suitjacket and low heels. The epitome of cool, Paradis look seems taken from another time and place or, as we like to picture it, from one of her partners movies by Tim Burton - fairytale-like, touching a beauty that’s both bizzarre and outerworldly.
